Markus
Theatre director, actor, author, podcaster. Since 1987, I have been travelling with my theatre company – from Kazakhstan to Texas, from Brazil to Pakistan. Persia, Kosovo, Spain, Peru. Costa Rica. New York. Biasca.
Born in Munich, where I remained until my Abitur and civil service. Since then, I have lived in what still seems to me an enchanted world on the southern edge of the Alps.

What
Love, power, and above all, death. The influence of conflict, so-called progress, technology and all forms of violence upon the human soul. I am particularly interested in the intersection of art and science - currently, beyond theatre and literature, I am occupied with quantum mechanics, artificial intelligence, and planning my next journey to Greece.
Writing, travelling, photographing
In 2008, I walked the ancient Amber Road from Venice to St Petersburg. A nine-month journey on foot through twelve countries, endless meditation through forests, over mountains, along rivers. After the first ten days, I sent my brand-new digital Nikon D3 back to Lugano and photographed the remainder of the journey with a Mamiya 7 II on medium-format film (6 x 7 cm).
Now: Leica M 10-R, Nikon FM3A.

A laboratory for thoughts before they become books, plays or podcasts. Theatre, science, literature, society. Photography. Imagination and word.
